What is a story?
A story can be anything you want it to be, it can be an occasion in your life, your thoughts and ideas on the topic or even completely made up. The only requirements we have for a story is it must be relevant to the story topic, contain all the keywords, fulfil the amount of words required, and also must be completely your own words and not copy written from another website.

When signing up you will be asked to create a username and password, you will need this information each time you sign in, if you forget your password please click the forgotten password option and follow the instructions to reset your password.
How much you earn is entirely up to you, you will earn money for each story you write and also by referring friends and family and making the most of our referral system. Each story is worth a different amount of money, ranging from 5p to £1.50, how much you get paid for a story depends on how many words are needed to complete the story. Your account will only show the earnings for a group of stories once all the stories in the group have been accepted by one of our moderators.
To earn even more money with us, spread the word among your family and friends, even get your kids involved and get them to earn their own pocket money or spending money for the summer holidays. For every person you recommend you will get 10% of their income per story. There is no limit to how many stories you and your friends can write.
On your home page you will see an up to date balance of all the monies you have earned once your balance reaches £10.00 you can receive payment anytime you wish to after that, payment can be made to you either via PAYPAL or via cheque (if via cheque you will need to submit the details of who the cheque is to be made payable to and the address it is to be sent to)
When signing up you will be asked for a referral code, this is where you enter the code of the person who recommended this site to you, every person who signs up to Work-Online is given their own unique referral code, so make sure when your friends and family sign up that you have given them your code and they have entered it for you to start receiving your 10% bonus.
How It Works
Once you have registered you are then ready to start writing and earning money. To write a story go to the My Account page, below your account information you will see a list of story groups, choose a group you wish to complete and click accept, once you have accepted a story group you must complete all the stories for that group before you will be allowed to select another story group.
Choose one of the stories from the group and start typing, whilst your typing a story Work-Online will automatically count down your keywords, and the amount of words required for the story, so there is no need to sit there and count all the words you have typed.
When you have finished your story and you are happy it meets all of Work-Online's requirements, click submit to send your story for moderation. One of our moderators will check your story and it will either be accepted or declined; All our moderators are volunteers and it may take up to five days for a story to be moderated. If your story is declined the moderator will enter the reason why, and the story will be sent back to the My Account page for you to make the necessary amendments and re-submit your story for moderation. If you have an outstanding story that has been declined until you have made the amendments, and re-submitted the story you will not be allowed to choose another group of stories to complete. Once an entire story group has been accepted by our moderators your account balance will be credited the monies earned.
Transferring Money
Once your account balance has reached the £10.00 minimum amount required to transfer funds you can request a payment at any time. As Work-Online is a UK based website, only UK members can request to receive their payment by cheque, all international members are required to have a valid PayPal account, any requests from international members to receive their funds by cheque will unfortunately be declined.
Upon completion of your payment request we will send you a payment confirmation email containing a link that must be clicked to confirm your request in order for your funds to be transferred. This is a security method we have in place to protect our members and payments cannot be made unless this process has been completed. If you believe you have not received the email please ensure you check your spam/junk folder, if you still cannot locate the email contact us immediately.
Option 1. PayPal
PayPal is an online account many people use to transfer money, it can be used to buy products online or transfer money into your bank account. Paypal is a trusted site and completely secure. PayPal have also introduced a PayPal debit card, instead of using your PayPal account to just shop online you can now request a visa card that can be used anywhere that accepts visa. When you wish to transfer money to your PayPal card contact PayPal, request the amount you would like transferred, as long as the funds are cleared in your PayPal account the card will be credited with the amount, and you can use the card at your leisure. Alternatively you can transfer the money from your PayPal account into your own bank account or use it to shop online.*
Option 2. Cheque
If you live in the UK and would like to be paid by cheque, you will be asked to fill in the details of who the cheque is to be made payable to, and also the address the cheque is to be sent to. You will need to enter these details each time you request payment by cheque as the details you enter will only be held on file for 30 days in case of any complications during payment, after this time the details will be deleted from our system.*
*Please allow 14 days from when you have confirmed your payment by clicking the link in the payment confirmation email to receive your payment, we would advise all members that unless your payment has exceeded the 14 day period, please do not email us in relation to your payment, due to the amount of emails we receive we may not be able to respond to your enquiry.
